The funding has contributed to a wide range of resources designed to maximise pupil potential in every possible way, e.g. extra support in core subjects and opportunities for extended school activities such as interventions and residential visits.
If your child should be receiving free school meals or has in the past, please let us know. Pupils are eligible for free school meals if you or your partner gets either:
- Universal Credit.
- Income Support.
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of £16,190 or less, as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs
Where a parent is entitled to Working Tax Credit during the four-week period immediately after their employment ceases, or after they start to work less than 16 hours per week, their children are entitled to free school lunches. Children who receive a qualifying benefit in their own right are also eligible to receive Free School Meals.
The child is at the centre of our approach to ensuring good progress in learning for pupils who are eligible to receive Pupil Premium Funding. We work hard to understand and break down any barriers to learning they may have and ensure they make progress and fulfil their potential.
Quality first teaching is essential for pupils to succeed. It is lesson by lesson progress that is essential to children’s success as learners. We will work towards removing any barriers to learning that pupils face such as, poor attendance, weak English and Maths skills or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
PLEASE NOTE
Children in Reception and Key Stage One are automatically entitled to Universal Free School Dinners; however, registering your child could entitle them to additional funding and support and once your child enters Key Stage Two they will continue to receive free school meals as per eligibility.
